Senate Bill 63 (summary / bill) was an attempt to require insurance companies to provide a minimum level of coverage for autistic children. This law does not apply to self funded insurance programs.

AN ACT relating to health insurance coverage for autism. Create new sections of Subtitles 17, 17A, 18, 32, and 38 of KRS Chapter 304 to require insurers to provide health insurance coverage, including respite and rehabilitative care, for autism of a child covered under the policy, subject to a $500 per month per child limitation which does not apply to other health conditions of the child and services for the child not related to the treatment of autism.
